Privacy Policy

AI Kids Cafe collects only the information needed to register students, communicate with parents, run live sessions, protect safety, and improve our learning program.

What we collect

  • Parent contact details: name, email, phone (optional).
  • Child profile: first name, age, selected program, avatar.
  • Learning activity: attendance, lessons completed, XP, projects, chat in class.
  • Class recordings: live session video/audio, used for safety, parent review, and quality.
  • Operational logs: error reports, AI model call telemetry (no payment card data is stored by us — Stripe handles payments).

How we use it

  • Run classes and personalize learning.
  • Communicate with parents about progress, billing, and safety.
  • Maintain platform security and prevent abuse.
  • Improve the curriculum and the product, using aggregate signals.

What we never do

  • We do not sell children's personal information. Ever.
  • We do not show third-party advertising to children.
  • We do not publish a child's name, image, or voice publicly without explicit parental permission.

Service providers

We rely on trusted vendors (Supabase for data storage, Stripe for payments, Resend for email, Twilio for SMS, OpenRouter/Anthropic for AI inference, Vercel for hosting). Each vendor is contractually bound to use data only to deliver our service.

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

AI Kids Cafe serves children ages 7 to 17. For any child under 13, we comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):

  • Verifiable parental consent is collected at registration (checkbox + parent identity + IP + timestamp) and stored in our audit log.
  • Data minimization: we only collect what's strictly needed to deliver the program. We never ask for home address, school name, social media handles, or other sensitive identifiers.
  • No behavioral advertising is ever shown to a child under 13.
  • Parents can review, export, or delete their child's information at any time (see "Your Rights" below).
  • Recordings featuring an under-13 child are accessible only to the parent, the assigned mentor, and authorized safety reviewers.

Questions about our COPPA practices? Email aikidscafe@gmail.com with subject "COPPA inquiry".
